Focus now shifts to 7 other Assamese expatriates summoned in the case
In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the death of legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, expatriate Rupkamal Kalita arrived in Guwahati from Singapore today and presented himself before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the CID headquarters.
Kalita, who was among the eight Assamese in Singapore summoned by the SIT in connection with the case, arrived a day past the October 6 deadline. All eight individuals were reportedly present on the yacht in Singapore where the incident leading to Garg’s death took place.
The SIT had earlier issued notices to the following individuals, instructing them to appear before the investigating authorities in Assam:
