25 years after the release of Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu starrer ‘Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar’, filmmaker Hansal Mehta has opened up about how the film’s failure took a toll on him. While he has now made his peace with the film’s debacle, he recalled that it once pushed him into alcohol, debut and bankruptcy. Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar marked Hansal Mehta’s second directorial feature after Jayate. It follows a bittersweet migrant tale in Mumbai, offering a gritty take on urban ambition. Apart from Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu, the film also starred Aditya Srivastava, Saurabh Shukla, Gajraj Rao, Vijay Raaz and others.
In his post, Hansal Mehta wrote, “I was reminded that it’s 25 years since Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar released and it’s a strange, bittersweet feeling. Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar began with a crackling script by Saur
