US President Donald Trump has shared an update on negotiations that are currently taking place in Egypt between Israel and Hamas, revealing he thinks a deal will be finalised soon.
“I think Hamas has been agreeing to things that are very important,” Mr Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday (local time).
When asked whether the US had any non-negotiable terms, such as its demand that Hamas disarm, Mr Trump replied: “Well, if certain things aren’t met, we’re not going to do it. But I think we’re doing very well.”
“We have just about every nation working on this deal and trying to get it done... This is a deal that, incredibly, everyone just came together,” he added.
