WHEN Becky Bowes visited her doctor about a rash on her arm she had no idea she would end up being diagnosed with cancer.
The now-25-year-old was confused when the medic “wouldn’t stop staring” at her neck before pointing out a lump.
Despite being the size of a golf ball, it had gone unnoticed for five years due to its positioning.
Now, when looking back on old photos, the lump is all Becky from Swindon can see.
“I only went in for a rash and then within minutes, my whole world came crashing down," she explained.
Becky, who is currently unemployed, would later be diagnosed with stage three papillary thyroid cancer .
She underwent surgery in May 2020 to remove her thyroid and 22 lymph nodes, of which 13 tested positive for the cancer.
