Volleyball and football programs are in the midst of a battle for district championships and playoff spots and several remarkable performances are among the finalists for the Driscoll Children's Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week.

The Caller-Times is taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Tuesday.

Students in all varsity sports are eligible and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

For the second straight week, Orange Grove's Daniel Bahn was a key factor for the Bulldogs, finishing with 142 yards and two touchdowns rushing and an 81-yard kickoff return TD against the stout West Oso defense.
