The two dozen candidates running for the New Orleans City Council collectively raised nearly $760,000 in the leadup to Saturday's primary and have spent their cash on everything from radio ads and mailers to television commercials and consultants, according to the latest round of campaign finance reports.
The reports, released last week, cover everything candidates raised and spent during a Sept. 2 to Sept. 21 reporting period, plus dollars they raised since then above $1,000 or $500 for at-large and district council candidates, respectively.
Voters will pull the lever on Oct. 11 for candidates running in six City Council races. Runoffs, which are likely, will be Nov. 15.
