A village playpark has been demolished after three homeowners took legal action against a parish council over "noisy" football games.
Residents in the picturesque village of Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire , have been left outraged after council workers began tearing up the sports pitch.
The multi-use games area (MUGA) was launched in the village's Memorial Park in 2010 following a community fundraising drive. Shortly afterwards three locals filed complaints with the council regarding the noise of "bouncing footballs" striking the metal sides.
