No trains will run on several major rail lines in and out of Glasgow during this year's festive period, Network Rail has announced.
Services will be off for 10 days, between December 24 and January 2, while crews install a new railway bridge at Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, as part of a £130 million investment programme.
The work means that no services will operate between Glasgow and Dalmuir, Balloch, Helensburgh Central and Crianlarich.
The disruption will affect both ScotRail trains and the Caledonian Sleeper.
Services between Lockerbie and Carlisle will also be suspended on January 1-7, hitting Avanti West Coast and Transpennine Express services as part of signalling upgrades kicking off in 2026.
Network Rail stated that reduced passenger demand during the Christmas period m
