On October 7, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved four multi-tracking railway projects with a total investment of Rs 24,634 crore across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh.
These projects will expand the Indian Railways network by approximately 894 kilometers, enhancing connectivity for around 3,633 villages and boosting operational efficiency.
Notable lines include the Wardha-Bhusawal and Vadodara-Ratlam corridors. The developments align with PM Modi’s vision for a New India, aiming for comprehensive regional growth and improved logistics, while also promoting environmental benefits through reduced CO2 emissions and lower logistics costs.
