Former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch H.D. Deve Gowda has been hospitalised in Bengaluru after developing a urinary tract infection (UTI) accompanied by high fever and chills.

The 92-year-old leader was admitted to Manipal Hospital on Old Airport Road on Monday (October 6, 2025) evening. Doctors said his condition is stable.

In a statement issued on Tuesday (October 7, 2025), the hospital said that Mr. Deve Gowda “was admitted with an infection” and is “currently undergoing medical management for the same.” His condition is being closely monitored by a team of specialists, the statement added.
