Actor and TVK chief Vijay has started personally contacting the families of those who died in the Karur stampede. According to India Today, Vijay has so far spoken to 4 to 5 families via video call.
Earlier on October 4, the Madras High Court, while hearing the case, reprimanded the actor and the party. Justice N. Senthilkumar had said,
After the incident, TVK left the scene and showed no apology or remorse. The party cannot close its eyes and escape responsibilities.
Meanwhile, in the Supreme Court, BJP councilor Uma Anandan from Chennai has filed a petition demanding a CBI inquiry. A bench headed by CJI BR Gavai will hear this on October 10.
