Pune: In a tribute befitting the legendary singer, the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation (LMMF) has announced plans to set up a 1000-bed super-speciality hospital in Nandoshi, off Sinhagad Road in Pune. The ambitious project will be named the Lata Mangeshkar Institute of Medical Sciences (LMIMS), is being envisioned as one of Asia’s largest medical facilities.

Dr Dhananjay Kelkar, Trustee of LMMF, confirmed that the foundation has submitted the necessary plans to local authorities. Speaking to the Indian Express, he said, “Plans have been submitted to authorities for permission, and we hope to commence the work in December this year. The aim is to make it one of Asia’s largest hospitals.”
