NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is charged with several felonies after he allegedly removed copper wire from a cell tower belonging to the Nashville Electric Service in Old Hickory.
According to court documents, on Sunday, Oct. 5, officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle near a cell tower on Legion Drive, and arrived to find a man in a red Ford F-150 attempting to leave the area.
Police reports said Michael Grimes, 41, exited the truck to speak with officers. During the conversation he allegedly told them he was there without the owner's consent to steal copper wire, electrical boxes and other items.
In the Ford, officers found "large quantities" of electrical and copper wire, along with two pairs of bolt cutters, court documents said. Officers noted that a pole nearby had
