A new district centre offering shops, offices, and food and drink outlets could be built to support a growing development of thousands of new homes.

The developers, Urban & Civic plc and Wintringham Partners LLP, said the new centre would be a ‘vibrant hub’ providing essential services to the growing Wintringham development to the east of St Neots .

Plans were approved in 2018 to build up to 2,800 new homes over 400 acres on the edge of the town, as well as primary schools, play areas and sport facilities, and employment spaces. The proposed district centre has been described in the plans as the “gateway into the wider Wintringham development”.
