Wall Street’s major indices opened flat on Tuesday, following record-setting closes for both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq the previous session. Investors are now turning their attention to a series of commentaries from Federal Reserve officials, hoping for insights into the central bank’s future policy direction.

In the early hours of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 5.9 points, or 0.01%, reaching 46,700.9. S&P 500 gained 5.9 points, or 0.09%, to start at 6,746.14, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 30.7 points, or 0.13%, opening at 22,972.37.
