Connor McDavid just made a big deal when he signed for less than he’s worth in a two-year extension with the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

But how do you value a player’s worth, anyway? Across professional hockey is one thing, but how about other professional sports?

McDavid is a good example to try with, considering no one has earned more points over the first 10 years of his NHL career than the 1,082 points (361 goals, 721 assists) he’s put up in 712 games.
