Mariners at Tigers picks and predictions
Prediction
Tigers 5, Mariners 3
Moneyline
The TIGERS (-110) are a decent play with their backs against the wall, as Mize looks to get the job done and force a decisive Game 5.
After going 3-1 in its first 4 postseason games, Detroit has dropped its past 2 outings, including Tuesday’s disappointing Game 3 loss on its home field. However, the pitching matchup favors Detroit, with Mize facing the erratic Miller.
Run line/Against the spread
The Tigers +1.5 (-185) will cost you almost twice your potential return, which is too much risk for too little reward if you’re looking for insurance.
The Tigers allowed 8 runs, their most since Sept. 19, but you can expect Detroit to perform much better with its season on the line.
PASS.
Over/Under
UNDER 8.5 (-115) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.
We saw the Over hit in Game 3, with the Mariners taking care of it on their own. However, it was the first Over after 2 straight Unders in Seattle. In Game 4, runs should be at a premium -- at least for Seattle -- as Mize has been fairly effective this season, especially at home. With the season on the line, lean low.
