DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers are on the brink of elimination.

After reaching the American League Divisional Series against the Seattle Mariners and taking a 1-0 lead after an extra-innings victory at T-Mobile Park, the Tigers have dropped back-to-back games and are one loss away from the end of their season.

A return home after over two weeks on the road didn’t propel the Tigers to a victory on Tuesday as a nearly three-hour rain delay set up a losing effort against the Mariners.

Now the Tigers must win their next two games to advance to the ALCS.

On the bump for Detroit in Game 4 (3:08 p.m., FS1) will be right-hander Casey Mize (14-6, 3.87 ERA), who made his postseason debut in the Tigers
