The rapid rise of Brady Martin has reached a major milestone.

The 2025 fifth-overall pick is poised to make his NHL debut after the Nashville Predators announced their opening night roster ahead of Thursday’s home opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

For Soo Greyhounds fans, it also begs the question: just how much longer will their star player stick around in Nashville?

Just a year ago, Martin was considered a fringe first-round prospect ahead of his draft year with the Hounds. Now, at just 18 years old, he has surpassed all reasonable expectations by not only becoming a top-five draft pick, but also signing his three-year entry-level deal and earning a spot on Nashville’s opening night roster.
