LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — A 79-year-old Avon Lake man has entered a guilty plea in connection with an alleged stabbing of his wife in 2024 , according to Lorain County Common Pleas Court records.

On Monday, Oct. 6, Woodie Francis filed a plea of guilty to the following charges:

Two counts of felonious assault

Disrupting public services

Possessing criminal tools

Domestic violence

A charge of attempted murder was dropped, according to the bailiff.

Francis was originally indicted on Jan. 14 on multiple charges related to the incident at their Wedgewood Drive home.
