'Terrible Problem': If Government Shutdown Persists, Federal Court Inaction Becomes a Risk

"In light of the ongoing federal government shutdown, the Thirteenth Biennial Bench-Bar Conference has been postponed," the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland announced as expert observers warned of greater troubles ahead for civil litigants and criminal defendants if Congress fails to reopen the government within two weeks.
