MATTISHALL, England (WJW) — One man is telling a cautionary tale after he says he partied too hard when he won the lottery.

Adam Lopez became a millionaire three months ago after purchasing a winning lottery ticket.

The 39-year-old forklift operator had about $20 in his account when he got the $1.3 million prize in July.

Lopez had big plans for the winnings.

He told the UK National Lottery that he bought himself his dream car, a Range Rover Sport. He bought his mom, Danica, a Range Rover Evoque.

Lopez booked a family holiday to Barbados as well. He also quit his job as a forklift operator.

On Sept. 10, Lopez was rushed to the hospital.

He told the BBC after winning the lottery, he was living a life of excess.
