ASHEVILLE - It's been less than three years since Taco Boy made its Asheville debut, taking the place of the longtime favorite, Zia Taqueria .

In December 2022, Taco Boy, a South Carolina-based restaurant, expanded to the mountains , opening at 521 Haywood Road.

It was the restaurant group's fourth location, and its reputation for fresh, in-house-made corn tortillas and Mexican-inspired signature tacos preceded the coastal eatery. Taco Boy's first location opened at Folly Beach in 2006.
