The maximum unemployment benefit in New York has gone up by over $300 as of Monday. The state's max benefit has stayed the same since 2019, before the increase, according to the Department of Labor.

How much did the benefit increase by?
Before Monday, the maximum unemployment benefit from the state was $504. Now, it's at $869.
Who will see an increase in the benefit?
More than half of unemployed New Yorkers can expect to see an increase in their benefits, according to the Department of Labor. At least 27% will get $869 per week, while 28% will see their overall benefit go up.
