The San Luis special election and recall vote will be held on Nov. 4, but early voting will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 8, and run through Oct. 31 at 5 p.m.
The last day to request a mail-in ballot is Friday, Oct. 24.
In addition, Proposition 434 will appear on the ballot, in which voters will decide whether City Council members will continue to receive compensation, benefits and/or travel allowances.
In July, a local civic group called “Concerned Citizens Against Municipal Waste” presented the initiative to put this decision on the ballot. The signatures supporting the initiative were challenged in Yuma Superior Court, but a judge validated them in August.
Another municipal decision before voters will be whether to approve the sale of the Regional Detention Center, owned by the city thro
