LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Out of all 120 Kentucky counties, Bourbon County ranked 14th in the highest number of fatalities and serious injuries behind the wheel.

That’s why they’re one of nine counties that implemented the “High Five” program in an effort to keep drivers safe.

“Kentucky’s ‘High Five’ program will be most successful if the residents of these counties and all counties in Kentucky work with the local troopers and deputies and simply buckle up,” shared Scott Langle, Captain KSP.

‘High Five’ grogram shows success

Two years ago, the year-long program began, using state police officers and the sheriff’s department to specifically focus on improving seatbelt usage on the roads.
