Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold got good news from a second opinion on his injured shoulder.

Arnold does not need season-ending surgery for the injury he suffered in last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals , ESPN and NFL Network both reported, and now is expected to return this season.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Arnold will "be out for a long time" with the injury but that he wasn't sure if it would be a season-ender. NFL Network reported Arnold "likely" would miss the rest of the season early Tuesday, before offering a more encouraging update later in the day.
