A former library employee in Bergen County who claimed she endured years of racist, vulgar and demeaning comments at work has reached a $200,000 settlement in her lawsuit against the North Arlington Free Public Library.
Irene Colao, 60, of Manalapan, alleged in court papers that a library manager, the manager’s relative and a trustee created a hostile work environment through repeated discriminatory remarks that ultimately forced her to resign in 2022.
