Violent texts should be disqualifying from public office. Say so.

Unfortunately, I already voted — by mail. Reading the Oct. 5 editorial “Jay Jones’s violent text messages are not the Virginia way,” I learned about the Virginia Democratic attorney general nominee’s horrific comments about Del. Todd Gilbert. This is a lesson to me not to vote so early, before all relevant information was available. Jones should have been vetted in a more thorough and timely manner.
