VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) – A 16-year-old accidentally shot himself while running from police during a call involving several people waving guns around at a Valdosta residence, according to the Valdosta Police Department (VPD).
On October 2, around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Green Street after citizens reported multiple people waving firearms in a yard. When officers arrived, several individuals ran from the scene.
During the chase, an officer heard a gunshot and saw a 16-year-old male fall to the ground, saying he had been shot. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
