The Clark College volleyball team picked up a hard-fought conference win, beating Chemeketa in four close sets last Friday.

Abigail Heberle led the Penguins with 16 kills while sophomore middle blocker Kylie Miller had eight kills and six solo blocks.

Emelynn Cecil, a sophomore from Prairie High School, was a defensive standout with 36 digs.

Clark took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-23 in the match held at Washington School for the Deaf. Chemeketa responded by taking the third set 25-21.

The Penguins trailed 23-22 in the fourth set, but finished with three consecutive points to close out the match.
