Homelessness has gone up 12% across the Greater Chattanooga Area.
The 2025 Southeast Tennessee State of Homelessness Report released by the Chattanooga Homeless Coalition, shows over 1,000 individuals have experienced or are experiencing homelessness.
82 of them are children under the age of 18, 111 had a "head of household" under the age of 24, and veterans saw a 32% increase, with 53 being reported.
The report lists several factors contributing to the increase of homelessness: lack of shelter space and housing and economic pressures are some of the top issues.
