With the busy summer season winding down, the work of warming centres is set to begin. In Napanee, the only warming centre available is run by Morningstar Mission. To help keep the homeless safe from the bitter winter cold, the warming centre doors will open Nov. 1. They close April 30. Article content

The warming centre, located at 58 Water St. W., is open from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday to Friday. The centre is open 23 hours per day on weekends, with a brief closure between 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. for cleaning. Article content
