ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Chamblee High School was evacuated Tuesday morning over a suspected gas leak.
“Out of an abundance of caution,” students were evacuated around 10:30 a.m. “due to the smell of gas in the Academic Building,” Principal Gail Barnes said in a message to parents, which DeKalb County Schools shared with Atlanta News First.
The school resumed normal operations after the building was investigated and deemed safe, according to the message.
“I want to thank our students and staff for their calm and flexible response,” Barnes wrote. “The safety of our school community remains our highest priority.”
