Google is giving college and university students in Canada free access to its Gemini AI tools for one year, as part of a new education initiative launched this week.

Starting today, Canadian students aged 18 and older can sign up for the Gemini Pro plan at no cost until December 9, 2025. The plan, which normally costs $26.99 per month, includes access to Google’s most advanced AI tools, such as:

• Gemini 2.5 Pro: lets users ask questions, upload images, and get writing or study help through unlimited chat and image uploads.

• Deep Research: generates detailed reports that summarize findings from across the web.

• NotebookLM: helps organize thoughts and notes, now with expanded audio and video support.

• Veo 3: creates short 8-second videos with sound from text or photos.
