YOUNGSTOWN SOBE Thermal Energy Solutions is working to get its brand-new boiler installed and are now awaiting approval from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to start using it.
The new boiler arrived at SOBE's facility on Sunday, October 5. The following day, it was discovered that replacement parts were needed for part of the unit that was not working.
The replacement part came overnight, and crews are now working to get the boiler up and running. The next step in the process is to obtain EPA approval to start using it.
This comes after SOBE had to find a new boiler after the Wabash-owned boiler the plant was originally using was repossessed following a court order.
