CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Six months after cleveland.com’s first “Price Patrol” shopping trip , some everyday goods have become noticeably more expensive.

Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer revisited prices for 100 common household items sold by Walmart, Amazon, Lowe’s and Giant Eagle to track how tariffs and inflation are affecting household budgets.

Prices of those goods rose 9.85% on average since April.

Amazon items recorded the largest overall increase at 20.5%, led by jumps in apparel and household goods. Lowe’s prices rose 9.15%, Walmart’s climbed 8.86% and Giant Eagle saw a modest 1% increase.

The price changes come as new federal tariffs take effect on a range of imports, including appliances, electronics, clothing and household goods. While not every increase can be directly tied
