STATESBORO Ga. (WSAV) — A plan for the future was unanimously approved Tuesday when Statesboro City Council voted 6-0 in favor the proposed 2025 strategic plan.
The plan "outlines key priorities and projects to guide near-term growth and community development" and was developed in partnership with the Coastal Regional Commission.
Statesboro city manager Charles Penny told attendees Tuesday that the plan is required to be updated or the city could lose out on future opportunities.
"It's how we plan to improve our community," Penny said. "We got input from our citizens as part of this process (and) so if we don't adopt our strategic plan, we may put ourselves in jeopardy when it comes to getting certain funds as well."
