Harry, a six-month-old puppy from Lawrenceville, Virginia, knew this pain all too well.

He arrived at Brunswick Animal Control in heartbreaking condition. Mange had left his skin raw, worms had ravaged his body, and each day brought more misery. Just when it seemed he had nothing left, something changed.

One icy morning, an officer found Harry trembling on a bare concrete floor , barely shielded by a torn blanket.

Though they feared he wouldn’t survive, they carried him inside. Beneath the bruises and blood, they discovered a resilient spirit still fighting.
