No roll cages, speeds up to 110kmh… lawnmower racing in Pinjarra can be a scary sport.
But St John WA are often found standing by at race meets to help with any injuries that crop up.
Western Australian Mower Racing Association president Jordan Lynch said it was always reassuring for paramedics to be on hand since racing began in Pinjarra in 2016.
“We’ve had a couple of unpleasant rollovers, fractured collarbones, broken ribs, two major accidents,” Jordan said.
But there was either an ambulance on-site, or St John’s response times were commendable, according to Jordan.
