BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Two men have been arrested after multiple reports of cooking oil thefts from local businesses.

On Tuesday, Bowling Green Police responded to Captain D’s on U.S. 31-W Bypass about a reported theft in progress.

According to the citation, a caller, an employee of Darling Ingredients, reported seeing two males steal used cooking oil from recycling containers behind multiple restaurants. After arriving on the scene, police saw 52-year-old Lao Magdiel and 27-year-old Luis Nogales Sanchez, both of Louisville, in the back of the property.

Both men were near a used oil container. When police asked what they were doing, Sanchez said both of them were trying to start a company from “picking oil.”
