TUCSON, Ariz. — A 43-year-old man has been sentenced to four years of probation after pleading guilty to negligent homicide in the road rage shooting of Dr. Jeffrey Honer last year.
Emotions ran high in the courtroom as the sentence was announced. The family of Dr. Honer expressed their disappointment over the decision.
"To get no jail time, no prison time. I'm shocked," said Kenneth Honer, Dr. Jeffrey Honer's brother.
Jason Jameson, who pleaded guilty to the negligent homicide, will not serve any jail time. The incident occurred in March 2024 on the east side near Houghton and Snyder.
"Mr. Jameson is going to walk away from this entirely scot-free," said Alyssa Honer, Dr. Jeffrey Honer's widow.
