HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have arrested a man for allegedly assaulting multiple HPD officers Tuesday morning.
According to police, District 6 patrol officers responded to a report of a man damaging an abandoned unit in Waikiki at around 6:25 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said officers attempted to detain the suspect, a 65-year-old man, who became combative and thereafter assaulted three officers.
The suspect allegedly bit one of the officers during the struggle, police said.
HPD said the responding officers deployed OC spray (pepper spray) and were able to arrest and place the suspect in custody.
Police said one officer was treated and transported to hospital, while the other two officers were treated at the scene.
Charges against the suspect are pending.
