KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
The Kansas City Police Department is continuing its patrolling efforts with a few new sets of wheels.
The police department introduced two new utility terrain vehicles for its Downtown Foot Beat. These vehicles will help officers better patrol alleyways, parking lots and streets. Advertisement
The UTVs are equipped with air conditioning and heating capabilities, meaning they can be used year-round.
Officers on the Foot Beat patrol areas like downtown, the Crossroads, the West Bottoms, the River Market and the 18th & Vine District.
The UTVs were deployed in response to community concerns about safety and crime in the city's entertainment districts.
