Pittsburgh Public Schools is thanking students, staff, and police for their swift actions following the report of a "potential threat" near the district's Brashear High School on Tuesday.

In a release from PPS, staff at the high school were notified of a "possible safety concern involving a suspicious person outside of the building." Advertisement

The district said the school entered a "secure status," which ensured that all students and staff remained inside their classrooms as police investigated.

The release said thanks to a quick report from a student, and the help of staff and law enforcement, the situation was resolved without injury.
