The Canadian criminal landscape is filled with couldas, shouldas and wouldas.

While consequences don’t appear to cause the Canadian judiciary a single second of lost sleep, the rest of us have to live with their whimsical decisions. Call them real-life consequences.

Case in point: Kyle Taylor, all-Canadian boy.

Early Tuesday morning, Taylor, 20, was charged by Toronto Police homicide detectives with two counts of first-degree murder in the brutal execution-style killings of 18-year-old Quentin Caza and 20-year-old Jeremy McNeil on April 15.

Caza and McNeil were shot to death while sitting in an SUV near Bain and Logan Aves. in the city’s Riverdale neighbourhood. Their vehicle was riddled with bullets, and so were the two young men. Caza died at the scene, while McNeil managed to get
