AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The government shutdown is hitting more than just paychecks.

It’s also hurting local businesses near Fort Gordon, where fewer customers are walking through the doors and owners are left wondering about their next paycheck.

At Divine Beauty Bar, owner and cosmetologist Tiffany Holley says each day feels like clipping away at her own paycheck.

“Anxious, nervous? Because I mean, whether I have clients or not, I still have to pay for the business. So just and anxious right now,” she said.
