Toyota is recalling approximately 394,000 vehicles over a malfunction with the rearview camera.

The company's "noncompliance recall" affects certain Tundra, Tundra hybrid, and Sequoia vehicles. All vehicles involved in the recall were manufactured between November 2021 and July 2025.

According to the Japanese automotive manufacturer, the "software in the 14-inch multimedia center display in these vehicles could cause the display to show a half green, full green, or full black screen."

"If this occurs while the vehicle is being reversed, the vehicle may not meet a federal safety standard and there can be an increased risk of a crash with a person behind the vehicle," Toyota said in an Oct. 1 notice.

Here's what you need to know about the Toyota recall, including the affected models and proposed remedy.

While three different models were technically included in the recall, Toyota clarified that only "certain" vehicles might be experiencing the issue.

For customers affected, Toyota dealers will update the multimedia display software at no additional cost. Toyota plans to notify these vehicle owners by the end of November.

Affected models include:

  • 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra
  • 2022-2025 Tundra Hybrids
  • 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrids
