CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Tri-State organization will soon break ground on a new facility, but they just found out they are losing part of their Kentucky funding.

Meals on Wheels is set to break ground on its new facility at the end of October so it can continue to serve a growing number of seniors in Northern Kentucky and Ohio.

Providing thousands of meals daily is just a small part of the resources provided by Meals on Wheels.

CEO Mike Dunn says he’s working to figure out how they will continue to grow their Northern Kentucky organization as they lose some of the funds from the state.

“About one in four Americans is a senior,” Dunn said. In the next decade, for the first time in the United States’ 250-year history, there will be more seniors 60 years and older than people 18 and younger
