SAN FRANCISCO -- Twelve years ago, a man blinked on camera, and his life hasn't been the same since.

Meet Drew Scanlon. He's been known as the Blinking Guy since 2017, when a clip from a live stream with the video game reviewing website Giant Bomb exploded as the meme you use to convey subtle irritation.

"A lot of times it doesn't feel like me because I didn't really have anything to do with it, besides the fact that it's my face," Scanlon said. "It was a gift that was given to me, and I thought that I should just pay it forward."

Scanlon has used his fame to raise money for an annual bike race supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

It was part of an effort to support his friend, Katie, and her mother, Elle, who both have MS.
